Mine Now

Whatever there is to be found at the bottom of Dent May ‘s dainty doo-wop paradisal garden, and whatever season you find it in – be it Brazillian tropical summer or a Brooklyn barbershop chill – it is worth foraging for. Championed by Animal Collective’s own Paw Tracks imprint (as if those bros weren’t busy enough), Dent’s debut record sees him saunter barefoot and blue-eyed through pop’s most far flung botanical conservatories in search of melody most rare and sunbathing silent screen sirens dipping their toes in crystal clear ponds about whom to pen swooning orchestral missives such as Meet Me In The Garden. It’s safe to assume that he’d have little problem coaxing even the most coquettish object of affection into falling for him though, so charming is the way his honey-soaked sleepy croon dances out of the shade of what in less wandering hands could be a rather staid ukelele meander, flower in teeth, wine bottle in hand and the same sweet intentions that all the great crooners had in their cute rhetoric and bulging trousers. The record, fittingly titled The Good Feeling Music of Dent May and his Magnificent Ukelele comes out on February 3rd.
