About Time

Sharing the same days-gone-by genes (and some of the same members) as previous Transparent crush Magic Kids, The Barbaras hail from Elvis-country, Tennessee and their greased-up and going out, leather and denim, pink cadillac pop ditties couldn’t be better placed. Check out “Summertime Road”, where they deck out their roughshod, stubbled-rashed brand of Spector-on-a-shoe-string, thick and smoked out production and deep-fried, diner-shaking trebly guitar twang with all the finery of big, homely lashings of joyful, hiccuping coo and response falcettos and a whole load of asphalt smell smitten, top down, open freeway FM woo-woo-woo-ing. All of which confirms them in our eager and easy little hearts as some of our favourite all-time Barbaras, joining the esteemed ranks of Barbaras Windsor, Sinatra (late widow of Frank) and Saint Barbara (mega babe, lived in the 3rd Century A.D., embraced Christianity against her square of a Father’s will and was killed for her beliefs. Bummer.)
