Elephant Hearted

So despite being the faithful, mouse-devout disciples we are, having checked the Memory Tapes myspace fanatically for months, searching for any sign of the long-prophesised celestial spectacular of light purest and colours most unseen and brilliant we were promised when those two highest stars, Memory Cassette and Weird Tapes, finally aligned – we still ended up missing “Bicycle”‘s blackhole bursting birth before GVsB alerted us to it today. All the wait’s been worthwhile though, as the song is a real deal holy yield on all those two projects promised apart – intermittently a tense, robo-symphonic disco melodrama about escape + dreaming + love, a huge egyptian themed club-banging workout about escape + dreaming + love and a sleep-blown electronic lullaby about, that’s right, escape + dreaming + love, within its five lifespanning minutes. One gripe though – is the skydiving, pilled up and up and up Robert Smith guitar lick at the end really fair? I mean, should anything be allowed to be this good?
Look out for releases on Something In Construction amongst other places soon.
