TP004 - The Smith Westerns

It is with pride immeasurable and happiness inconceivable that we announce our fourth single as a haphazard little vendour of seven inch slabs of fun/tragedy/romance/farce – the debut UK single from Chicago’s no-romantic, garage-glam pop aching heart-throbs The Smith Westerns, who’ve completely comandeered our affections since we first blogged about them earlier in the year. “Be My Girl”, the release’s lead track – all sleeve-rolled and smelling good – has already made eyes at all the best catches hanging on the edges of the mirror-balled, dim lit dancefloor of the internet, and double A side “Girl In Love”, taken from the band’s wonderful LP out in the US on Hozac, is just as agelessly anthemic and alco-amorous – a half strutting, half staggering, starry-eyed/snotty nosed joy of a jam.
“Be My Girl/Girl In Love” is limited to 300 copies worldwide and is released on September 14th. Pre-order at Pure Groove. US customers who aren’t down with the import costs should keep it locked as we’re working on getting some copies of this and our other releases in stores where you’re at too. More details on that soon.
