Breezy E

We’ve been lost deep in the fog of Grace Nate and co, AKA Pure Ecstacy ‘s sickly, lonely, final fronteir space-folk for a good minute or so now since our friends and saviours Friendship Bracelet gave their forthcoming 7” jaunt on Leftist Nautical Antiques a what’s up last week. “DWLDWD” is the standout track from that release – Nate sounding like the lone(some) survivor of a horrendously beautiful unseen apocalypse that has destroyed all of humanity but compensated it with wonder-wrought miracles of landscape previously undreamt and an incomparable, eternal winter morning calmness built to last centuries – his resigned, well-whiskeyed, back-room blues croon and genuinely transcendent reverb-sad guitar hook given the space (pure, fertile, precious s p a c e) it craves in all its confusion and isolation and perfection. Get to know it at the project’s myspace and then be friends forever whilst forever waits around (I.e. fifty copies worth).

For now, here’s the trio’s potent, beautifully barren, moon-raking field recording take on Toots and the Maytals classic “Pressure Drop”:
