Our pal Kev at (the award winning) No Pain In Pop has been writing great words about great music before we even had an internet connection powerful enough to stream from MySpace without our IBM blowing up. He’s also been lending his pen to RCRD LBL recently and just when we were ready to give up on the year he put up these exclusive tracks from another ideal dinner guest of ours Active Child. It was almost inevitable that ‘When Your Love Is Safe’ would be a coming together of rich, glorious balearic sprawls bound seamlessly by music-hall keys and that impossibly ethereal voice of his. We heard someone reference what Enya would sound like if she was male/relevant/actually good but we like Pat too much to consider any comparison with Enya in the sentence.
