Incoming 2010 - Big Troubles

Our minds have spent a long time marooned in Ridgewood NJ this year for obvious reasons and there is no chance of us upping sticks anytime soon as long as Big Troubles continue to reside there. The new song they’ve kindly sent over is set for release by us here at Transparent in the new year as part of a split 7” with Fluffy Lumbers so keep your eyes skinned for that and, in the meantime, lose your head to the bleary bombast of its succinct and stung rainy-daze downer-pop below:

Favourite song of 2009?

No Demons Here – Cradles

from his recent tape release, “Boy Eaten By Thing In Water” : “the year has made it clear that being an adult is difficult, unfavorable.”

Favourite album of 2009?

Real Estate – self titled. When was the last time a new band showed up with songs this well-written and their own distinctive guitar sound?

Real Estate – Beach Comber

What are your plans for 2010?

The goal is to get sponsored by that company that makes those guitar picks with the alien faces. Also touring/releasing our LP.

Can you tell us a bit about the track you’ve sent us?

The song started out as a sort of Beatles-esque pop idea, but then run through the scuzzer. I’ve jokingly referred to it as “noise rock Beatles”, but wouldn’t be surprised if people didn’t hear it that way.
