Thug Life

Already proud parents of one of our favourite UK singles of the last twelve (the ramshackle and righteous anthem of almighty apathy that was “Bowie Knives”) Manchester-or-thereabouts’s slack-jawed supremos of jagged jangle and pink-eyed punk rock miniatures Mazes return triumphant with a clipped, dirty faced little ditty for your groggy Saturday afternoon listening. Spoiler Alert: “Painting of Tupac Shakur” may start in surprisingly serene fashion, drifting in like a beautiful peacebird on tender wings of pastel keys, but only in order to blindside you when it sqawks like a fiendish flaming daemon and remorselessly dumps 45-seconds worth of gnarliest thrash and slop on your head from great height.
