Brittle Babe

Where do these voices spring from? Check out this gorgeous, gauzy serenade “Honeydew” courtesy of China Paradise. The song, one of the enigmatic Stockholm outfit’s first, comes on like a demon-freed Elizabeth Fraser guest-vocalling on a glittering, lost eighties Prom classic. It’s a wonderfully cryptic, carefreed love song that has a special lightness to it; a preternaturally smooth pixie-of-the-heart set of pipes hushedly incanting amorous spells from inside a giant frozen, floating bubble of pink synth sugar.
