Been woken up cold-sweating this morning by this doomed, end-of-the-world drone-monster audio/visual by Hackney’s Family. Shame we caved into sleep really though, as “Ancient Dreams” sounds as if it was crafted specifically to soundtrack the scene of apocalyptic, last-ever daybreak over a ghoulish, unloved metropolis – the full force of the sun’s seering fury rising ominously over a wretched, shadow-bound nightscape second-by-second until all is engulfed in unholy blaze; the sad, demented bellow of God or the damned or someone languishing inbetween lamenting an impossible dream lost forever the only thing audible over the tumult. Basically, this is a vampy, intense dungeon-dancefloor slayer that you need.
