Pitchfork just lifted the curtain on the new Aaron Brown promo clip for Lemonade ‘s latest single “Lifted” in which some impossibly sexy kids betray the smoke of the city and get their scary party on in a beautiful/treacherous secluded river-side spot, dark overtones of shadow and fire matching the weird and wonderful way the huge jam manages to make something far more sinister from the sum of its parts. Steel drums – usually chirpiness itself – becoming ominous, ghoulish howls; a precocious girly laugh sounding like a taunt from the grave; the seemingly amorous lead vocal line actually digging its fingernails into the beat in desperation.
