We were introduced to Myles Cooper by friends and fellow San Francisco champions Girls recently and have fallen deep and desperate for his barmy, camp cartoon gospel megahit “Gonna Find Boyfriends Today”. Lurching around loony on some maniacally chipper squelchy synths, the jam begins out sounding like it should soundtrack a sadistic clownmask slasher skit or something. This, by the way, is a great thing. Then, when Myles’ kindhearted, nursery naptime lullaby of a vocal drifts across the scene, hushing the nightmare, it sounds more like a playground mantra from an asylum exercise yard. This is an even better thing. It’s the technicolour between terror and fantasy and it’s yours to conquer today!
