Our top guy Alex Shields’ of A Grave With No Name has eased us out of the oily clutches of Monday morning inertia with a gentle peck of pristine sunlight on the forehead that he’s christened “Streams” and that we can look forward to seeing on his forthcoming record, the follow-up to last year’s gorgeously troubling “Mountain Debris.” The best thing about “Streams” is its feathery fragility, Shields’ wispy, wind-hushed croon always threatening to be torn asunder against the strain but somehow clinging to its dignity amidst the downstream torrent of sadness and resignation it bobs about in. Completely human and tender, this is as sweet a strumalong melody to have danced in the back of our brains for some time and comes highly recommended:
