The champions of only the best noise at Olde English Spelling Bee have just nodded us in the direction of this new clip from Big Troubles and it’s got us falling even harder for them, something we didn’t consider quite possible since the unstoppable “Freudian Slips” still gets bumped daily round here as a matter of absolute ritual. “Bite Yr Tongue” is another joy-salvaging little rainy-day love-pop runaway that seems to have every bit of the wonder, intrigue, abandon, hurting and energy of all teendom caught in the spokes of its dizzy flail. The accompanying video, filmed and directed by Spencer Dennis, is pretty appropriate too – romantic super-8 footage of the boyz filling their faces on junk food, cruising the endless suburbs in clapped out motors and generally just stealing a good time from boredom’s clammy clutches.
